TNPSC AAO Notification for 2023 along with AHO posts has been released as per The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission official website. Total 263 vacancies have been declared. The online registration starts on 25 November 2023 and last date to apply is 24 December 2023.

TNPSC AAO Notification 2023 

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has issued notification for recruitment of Assistant Agricultural Officer (AAO) in Tamil Nadu Agricultural Extension Subordinate Service and Assistant Horticultural Officer (AHO) in Tamil Nadu Horticultural Subordinate Service.  Total no of TNPSC AAO vacancies as per official notification is 84 whereas TNPSC AHO vacancies are 179.

TNPSC AAO selection process is based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the CBT examination subject to the rule of reservation of appointments. The CBT exam will be held in various centres viz Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichirappalli, Tirunelveli, Salem and Vellore. Selected candidates will be called for document verification and accordingly the selected candidates will be appointed for TNPSC AAO and AHO vacancies. TNPSC AAO Online Application Fees

The TNPSC AAO and AHO application fee structure contains two parameters: –

1. Registration Fee of Rs.150/- which is to be paid online for new registration. Please note Applicants who have already registered in One Time Online Registration System and within the validity period of 5 years are exempted.
2. Examination Fee of Rs.100/- is to paid online at the time of time of submitting the online application. Please note Category candidates i.e. SC/ST/BC/Ex-Serviceman are exempted from Examination fee.

AAO and AHO Vacancy details

The total vacancies reported for AAO and AHO posts as per TNPSC official notification are 263. The total vacancies are bifurcated as under:-

1. TNPSC Assistant Agricultural Officer (AAO):- No of vacancies reported are 84 out of which 5 are Carried forwarded from previous years.
2. TNPSC Assistant Horticultural Officer (AHO):- No of vacancies reported are 179 out of which 31 are Carried forwarded from previous years.

TNPSC AAO Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

The Minimum Age limit to apply for TNPSC AAO recruitment is 18 years (as on 01.07.2023) whereas Maximum age limit is 32 years (as on 01.07.2023). For candidates belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of All Categories, there is no maximum age criteria.

TNPSC AAO Educational Qualification:-

• For Assistant Agricultural Officer (AAO) Posts the candidate must have passed 12^th examination and completed two years of diploma in Agriculture (as on 25.11.2023).
• For Assistant Horticultural Officer (AHO) Posts the candidate must have passed 12^th examination and completed two years of diploma in Horticulture(as on 25.11.2023).
• Applicants should possess adequate knowledge in Tamil on the date of this notification
• Applicants selected for appointment to the said posts will be required to produce a certificate of physical fitness as per official notification.

TNPSC AAO Exam Pattern and Selection Process 2023

The Selection process of TNPSC AAO Recruitment 2023 as per official Recruitment PDF will be conducted in following manner:-

1. Candidate has to clear a Computer based Test which comprises of two papers as follows:-
2. Paper-I is a MCQ based subject paper exam which consists of Diploma standard questions for Agriculture or Horticulture subjects. The total duration of this exam is 3 hours with maximum marks of 300.
3. Paper-II consists of two parts i.e. Part -A which is Tamil Eligibility Test comprising of 100 question of maximum 150 marks. It is a SSLC standard exam and will be of qualifying nature. Part-B Consists of General Studies test with a total of 100 questions with 150 marks weightage. The total time limit to complete the Paper-II is for 3 hours.
4. Minimum qualifying marks for Tamil Eligibility Test is 60 marks (40% of 150). It is necessary to qualify the Tamil Test in order for selection.
5. Based on the marks obtained in Paper I and Paper-II, tentative list will be released and accordingly candidates will be called for Document Verification and medical test.
6. Shortlisted candidates will be appointed for the TNPSC AAO and AHO posts.

How to Apply for TNPSC AAO Vacancy

1. Eligible Candidates after going through the official PDF have to register on the commission website (www.tnpsc.gov.in or www.tnpscexams.in).
2. Candidates have to do “One Time Registration” using Aadhaar before applying for any post. Applicant should register only once in the One Time Registration by paying Rs.150/- as registration fee. Accordingly one time Registration ID and password will be generated for the applicant.
3. Candidates have to register their Personal data, Educational Qualification, Age, Category and other details in Online Application Portal. Candidates should upload required scanned copies of documents / certificates in prescribed format to establish their eligibility.
4. After submitting the application, applicants can save / print their TNPSC AAO application form in PDF format.
5. It is pertinent to mention that candidates carefully go through the official pdf and fill all the details properly. If in case any discrepancy happen in later stage then the candidature may be cancelled by the recruiting organization.

TNPSC AAO Salary

The Assistant Agricultural Officer (AAO)  and Assistant Horticultural Officer (AHO) posts carries the pay scale of Rs.20,600 -75,900/- (Level-10).
