Meghalaya Recruitment 2024 has been released from the Civil Defense and Home Guard Department for inviting eligible candidates for the post of Sub Inspector, Guardsman, and Driver to fill 445 vacancies. The application form will start from 1st April till 1st May 2024. For further details candidates must go through this article before applying for the post.

The recruitment of Sub Inspector, Guardsman and Equivalent Ranks, Driver, and Non-combatant employees in the Civil Defense & Home Guards Organization has been on its official website for both males and females can apply. The 445 vacancies will be filled up as per reservation policy for the state. Selected candidates will have to serve anywhere in the state of Meghalaya after successfully completing the Basic Training of Nine months duration. Candidates who fail to pass the Basic Training will be discharged from service.

Meghalaya SI Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who wants to apply for the recruitment should be a citizen of India and belonging to or domiciled in Meghalaya. Other qualifications are as follows.
Age Limit
Sub Inspector – 20 to 27 years
Guardsman – 18 to 27 Years
Driver – 18 to 27 years
Non Combatant Employee – 18 to 32 years
- Candidates should be in above mentioned age as on 15.03.2024.
- There will be relaxation of 5 years in the upper age for SC/ST candidates as per the Govt. policy.
Educational Qualification
Sub Inspector – Bachelors degree in any stream from a recognized University/ Institution
Guardsman & Equivalent Ranks – Class IX Passed
Driver – Class IX Passed with valid HMV/LMV driving license issued by the competent authority Non-Combatant Employee – Class V Passed
Meghalaya Recruitment 2024 Exam Pattern
- For recruitment to the post of Sub Inspector:
Physical Efficiency Test – 100 Marks
Written Examination – 300 Marks
Interview – 50 Marks
Total – 450 Marks
The written examination for the post of Sub-Inspectors shall consist of three papers
(a)General English – Including précis writing, essay writing, drafting, and grammar. (b)Elementary Mathematics, Power of Reasoning, and Elementary Science (Multiple choice/OMR-based)
(c)General Knowledge (Multiple choice/OMR-based)
Physical Measurement Height:
Male (ST including other tribes of Meghalaya) – 157 cm
Male Others – 162 cm
Female (ST including other tribes of Meghalaya) – 152 cm
Female Others – 157 cm
2. For recruitment to the post of Guardsman, Driver and Equivalent Ranks
Physical Efficiency Test – 200 Marks
Written Examination – 200 Marks
Interview – 50 Marks
Total – 450 Marks
The Written Examination for Guardsman, Driver and equivalent posts shall consist of one paper only, comprising of elementary and basic knowledge of English, Basic Arithmetic, and basic General Awareness. This paper will be on multiple choice /OMR Basis.
Note : For the selection of driver a separate list shall be prepared based on the total marks obtained in PET, written exam, personal interview and driving test. The driving test shall carry a maximum of 100 marks.

Male (ST including other tribes of Meghalaya) – 157 cm
Male Others – 162 cm
Female (ST including other tribes of Meghalaya) – 150 cm
Female Others – 154 cm
3. For recruitment to the post of Non-Combatant Employee
Physical Efficiency test – 200 Marks
Trade Test/ Interview – 50 Marks
Total – 250 Marks
There will be no written test for Non-Combatant Employee (NCE).

Male Others – 158 cm
Female (ST including other tribes of Meghalaya) – 149 cm
Female Others – 154 cm
Note: 5 KM race for male candidates will have to be completed within 24 Minutes and 3 KM race for Female candidates will have to be completed within 19 minutes.
How to Apply Meghalaya SI Recruitment 2024
The application form should be duly filled and submitted along with attested copies of the following documents:
- Three copies of recent passport-size photograph, one of which is to be pasted in the application form.
- All educational qualification certificates.
- Birth certificate or age certificate as per school records.
- Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste Certificate/Domicile Certificate.
- Home Guards/Civil Defence Training Certificates for candidates applying for the posts of Guardsman and equivalent ranks, Drivers and Non–Combatant Employees.
- Applications may be submitted by Hand or by registered post. A numbered receipt must be collected for hand delivered applications from the counter opened for receiving application
- A self-addressed stamped envelope (size 10 x 24 CM) along with Rs.5/- postage should also accompany the application.
